As a kid, my parents always taught me, “It’s not how much you earn, but what you do with what you earn that makes the difference.” That lesson has stayed with me throughout my life, and it’s one that I pass on to my clients on a daily basis. As a financial planner, I can’t change what’s on your paycheck—but I can help my clients take what they earn and use it in a way that helps them reach their financial goals. I believe that your money should be a servant to your hopes and dreams, not the master of them.
I am a senior partner here at Community Financial Group, and this allows me to work closely with many clients who face complex financial issues. As someone who loves solving problems, I enjoy helping my clients face these challenges head-on and find solutions they didn’t think were possible. I am also the co-founder of Plan Your Virginia Retirement, a free service for VRS employees who are within three years of retiring. Through this program, I get to help people feel confident and comfortable with their retirement plan. There’s nothing better than being able to watch a client retire with total peace of mind about their finances!
I attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, and in addition to receiving my accreditation as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, I have also become a Credentialed Holistic Financial Coach through Columbia University. I live in Richmond, Virginia, with my wife, KK, and our children, Judah and Kensie. I love coaching their sports teams and being involved with their activities. KK and I also volunteer with the three- to five-year-olds at the Hill City Church, where we attend with our family.
